Charles McGalshan, Marin County’s head of the Board of Supervisors (basically the County’s mayor), died of a heart attack last weekend. He was one of Marin’s smartest and hardest working surfers. Below is the announcement from Surfrider.
“Surfrider Foundation Marin and friends of Charles will be holding a paddle out ceremony in memory of Marin County Supervisor Charles McGlashan.
When: Sunday, April 2, 9:00 am
Where: Stinson Beach Park, West Parking Lot.
A fellow surfer, Charles was a tireless supporter of clean water and ocean health, most recently supporting our plastic bag ban County wide. Please join us on the beach and in the water to celebrate his life and the continuation of his good work. A beach clean will also be held.
The Proof Lab Surf Shop will supply 20 wetsuits and surfboards so that all can participate.”
